Ensuring safety, compliance and quality

Civil engineering and building construction projects are often highly complex, with multiple workstreams and contractors requiring continual, professional supervision. Our experienced team can manage and control every aspect of your project, making sure the works are successfully completed on time, on budget and in line with the latest industry requirements.

Multiple roles and project types

We act as Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) and can support clients in discharging their responsibilities as Client and Principal Contractor. We often plan, control and monitor the pre-construction and construction phases of any project, including coordinating Health & Safety requirements.

A flexible approach to projects

We can supervise construction works as a standalone service for third party projects, or as part of our wider design, refurbishment and repair services. Our offering includes temporary works as well as main projects covering infrastructure development and building construction projects for public and private sector clients across the UK and beyond.

The importance of effective construction supervision

The primary reason is, of course Health & Safety, as outlined on the HSE website. The current CDM 2015 regulations were brought into force partly in response to several high-profile accidents where supervision was found to be a key factor.

No one wants incidents like this to happen during their project. That’s why it’s so important to appoint construction supervisors with the right skill sets for the job. The expert team at Inertia Consulting have wide experience in identifying and mitigating technical and Health & Safety risks, and continually appraising works to help prevent construction errors.

Compliance is also a key factor in effective construction supervision. Our degree-qualified and Chartered Civil Engineers have the skills, experience and knowledge to ensure that construction is compliant with specification and statutory requirements.
