Engineering Consultancy

Our engineering consultancy services include bridge and civil engineering structure design, strengthening and repair design and supervision, and feasibility and option reports. These can be combined with one or more of our other services to create an integrated, end-to-end project management service that’s tailored to your precise requirements.

Bridge Inspection

The Inertia Consulting team has many years of experience in managing, undertaking and reporting on bridge inspections across the UK and overseas. Our unrivalled expertise makes us the first choice for high quality bridge inspections on road, rail and water infrastructures. Projects range from single bridge inspections to extensive stock management programmes.

Non-destructive Testing

Our range of non-destructive testing and structural investigation services combines traditional and advanced techniques to provide a one-stop shop that enables you to manage your structural assets effectively. To give you complete confidence, our projects are always led by Chartered civil and structural engineers and specialist testing experts.

Wilford Suspension Bridge

In 2008, Inertia Consulting identified that the 70m Wilford Suspension Bridge in Nottingham had deteriorated significantly from previous inspections and its load-bearing capacity had become substandard. We were therefore appointed by Severn Trent Water plc to carry out a principal inspection, dimensional survey, capacity assessment, refurbishment scheme design – including temporary works – and construction supervision for the bridge.

Highways England Area 9

Highways England Area 9 covers Gloucester, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands, Worcester and Herefordshire. Area 9 includes some of the UK’s busiest and most complex road systems, including Spaghetti Junction and parts of the M5, M6 and M42.
